FOG 16.5 Annual Grease Trap Inspections by New Orleans Grease Trap Cleaning for the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.
New Orleans Grease Trap Cleaning and Cooking Oil Recycling is one of the few companies in the Orleans Parish that is certified by the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board to clean and inspect grease traps and in-kitchen grease interceptors.
Beginning in January of 2017 the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board began enforcing a new city wide ordinance to aid in the prevention of sanitary sewer blockages, overflows, and obstructions caused by the accumulation of fats, oils and grease that are discharged into the city’s sanitary sewer system.
FOG Ordinance Section 16.5 dictates the Rules Governing the Discharge into the Public Sanitary Sewerage System From Grease Traps and Grease Interceptors. The purpose of the ordinance is two-fold:
1) to make sure that all grease traps are operating properly,
and
2) to also ensure that all grease traps are serviced properly and in a timely fashion. The New Orleans Sewerage and Water Boards states that great traps within the city will need to be cleaned either every 90-days or when they are are 25% discharge into the city sanitary sewer system.
