RENEWAL ALERT – Don’t Forget to Complete 2018 FOG Ordinance 16.5 Annual Grease Trap Inspections and Discharge Permit Applications for the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.
In recent weeks many of our customers have received FOG Ordinance 16.5 discharge permit renewal application forms for 2018. Unlike lengthy first time FOG 16.5 permit application forms, the renewal application process for food establishments is short and to the point. For your convenience we have outlined this process below.
FOG Ordinance 16.5 Discharge Permit Application Renewal Process:
Please note: this process assumes there have been no changes within your plumbing system. If there have been any changes to your plumbing system, the food establishment owner and/or operator will have to complete the original permit application form and re-apply for a permit through both the Environmental and Plumbing departments within the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.
- You should receive a FOG 16.5 renewal application from via mail or certified mail. If your permit has expired, then it would be a good idea to contact the S&WBNO.
- Have your certified grease trap cleaning company complete the required annual inspection upon the next service of your grease trap or interceptor. At the time of this particular service make sure before, during, and after cleaning images are taken. These images must be submitted with your renewal application form.
- Post cleaning service, your grease trap cleaning company should be able to provide you with the required cleaning images and a general inspection summary. This information, along with the completed FOG 16.5 discharge permit application renewal form and $100 annual fee, will then be submitted to the Environmental Department at the Sewerage and Water Board of New Orleans.
